Adorned in traditional Maldivian jewellery, the Queen Regent wears gold disk earrings and her neck is graced by a traditional fattaru bai and a gold-beaded necklace. Numerous rings with precious stones embellish her fingers. Even her rumaafalhi sparkles with golden jewels and pearl pins. Her libaas, crafted from rare blue and golden brown stiff silk, marks her status among the affluent. Blue silk, coveted and rare in those times, drapes her form, symbolising her unique place in society.
